Radio for the Daydreamers (RftD) is a 3 piece experimental band based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2009, the band has always comprised of multi-instrumentalist that have dedicated their creative outlet to experimental music. Though the band have kept their mystery alive by not having pictures of any identifiable members of the band, or a traditional “band picture”, they are known for their high fan interaction through social networking media. RftD released their first full length album in September 2009 titled “Clouds of Smoke and Poison” (independently released). The album was heavily influenced by post-rock and ambient electronica and saw a few online hits like “Leaving on a Sunday” and “I ran away from home once“. Since then, the band has drastically changed their sound and have been working on a triptych titled “Praying for the Be(a)st“. July 2011 saw the release of the first part of the triptych called “Mother Superior and Her Fields of Migraine“, the band’s second full length album. The record was released independently and has been a major factor in the band’s recent success. The sounds on the album were influenced by avant-garde jazz and classical music along with constant company of downtempo electronic music.

Currently the band is working on the release of the second part of the triptych called “Praying for the Be(a)st“. The album is set to release in December of 2011 which is when the band is starting their live shows.
