October 3, 2024 — Spain — Somos el Viento, the one-man musical project from Spain known for blending post-rock, space rock, and ambient textures, is set to release its highly anticipated album Mar Negro on October 25, 2024.

With Mar Negro, Somos el Viento deepens its exploration of expansive soundscapes, crafting an immersive experience. The album combines intricate guitar layers with atmospheric production, evoking a profound emotional journey through sound. Influenced by both cosmic and earthly themes, Mar Negro offers moments of reflection and escape, appealing to fans of artists like Explosions in the Sky and God Is An Astronaut.

In the words of the project’s creator, “Mar Negro is deeply inspired by the interplay between isolation and the vastness of nature. I wanted to capture the feeling of drifting between calm and chaos, much like the sea itself.” Each track unfolds as a meditative soundscape, balancing calmness and tension with ethereal instrumentation.

“The creative process for Mar Negro was a meditative experience,” Somos el Viento states. “It unfolded during a time of reflection in my life, especially with the birth of my second child. Each track developed organically, reflecting both personal introspection and transformation. Tracks like ‘Fragments’ are particularly meaningful to me, representing those moments of change.”
